Audi TT Coupe

If you don't have quite enough cash on hand for the 2008 Audi TT Roadster, the TT Coupe is a fine car, with plenty of room for two people and their stuff, thanks to the hatchback design. Sure it's expensive, but you can comfort yourself by knowing that you're getting a good mileage return on every drop of premium fuel you put in the tank.

Annual Fuel Cost

Lotus Elise/Exige

A Lotus? Third place on a list of fuel-efficient cars? You bet, and you can thank the premium-fuel sipping Toyota-sourced engine for its high ranking here. The Lotus Elise is not for everyone. Its light weight makes it fun to drive, but the Elise is also tiny, noisy and cramped. Yet it's a giant killer, and can whip much more expensive and powerful cars around a track, and nail them on fuel economy, too.

Annual Fuel Cost
$2,675
City/Highway/Combined
21 mpg /27 mpg /23 mpg (with six-speed manual transmission)

Audi A4 Cabriolet

The 2008 Audi A4 Cabriolet is not a cheap car to buy: It costs nearly $40,000 to start, and once you start adding options the price climbs fast enough to give you altitude sickness. Still, it's a good-looking and fun car, and with good fuel economy from each gallon of premium, at least you'll only have to worry about your car payment, and not your gas mileage, gas card or gas prices.

Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyde

The Mitsubishi Eclipse has moved far from its roots as a lightweight sporty tourer. Still, even with its added mass, the convertible Spyder manages to get good gas mileage thanks to its manual transmission and four-cylinder engine. Technically, its gas mileage is below the preceding Porsches, but since it drinks regular instead of premium, your annual fuel cost is lower.

Porsche Cayman

A Porsche on a fuel-economy list? Even in 10th place, that's impressive, and there's little about the 2008 Porsche Cayman that doesn't impress. From the styling to the snug interior to the handling, this little car is all Porsche. It drinks as much premium fuel as the Porsche Boxster -- number nine on this list -- and comes in 10th because of its higher base price.

Annual Fuel Cost
$2,825

2010 Chevrolet Camaro

CarTribe has procured a few shots and the initial details of the production Chevrolet Camaro ahead of its official unveiling this Monday. According to their report, the Camaro will come in LS, LT and SS trim, equipped with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic. Of course, that doesn't account for the very-obviously-marked RS car that is shown in the official photos, so who knows what the whole story is.

Engine choices include either a 296 hp, 3.6-liter V6 or a 416 hp 6.2-liter V8 which will feature cylinder deactivation to boost fuel economy. Underneath the retro sheetmetal is a full independent suspension and StabiliTrak traction control system. Four-pot Brembo brakes are mounted up front on the SS variant, and the 3,700-pound coupe will reportedly have a weight balance of 52/48, front/rear. The neuvo-retro theme is carried inside with a gauge cluster inspired by the 1969 model, along with leather seats and blue LED lighting.

Scion TC

MSRP (base): $17,620Engine: 2.4-liter, 16-valve DOHC, VVT-I, 4-cylinderHorsepower: 161 horsepower @ 5,700 rpmTorque: 162 lb-ft @ 4,000 rpmMPG: City: 21; Highway: 29Performance - 16/20The Scion TC or Touring Coupe borrows its structural underpinning from the Avensis (offered by Toyota’s European division) and is available exclusively in front-wheel drive. The quad-wheel independent suspension is characterized by double wishbone in the rear, and supported by high-resistant MacPherson struts up front. This Scion two-door finds its muscle in the Camry’s 2AZ-FE, a 2.4-liter, 16-valve, DOHC with Intelligent Variable Valve Timing. The smaller powerplant produces 161 horsepower @ 5,700 rpm, with 163 lb-ft of torque @ 4,000 rpm, that's not so bad for its class. There is a forced-induction upgrade courtesy of a TRD supercharger that bumps the output to 200 ponies, should you want to upgrade and spend the extra dough. However, the base TC sees the brunt of its power in the low end revs and the car remains well controlled by the rack-and-pinion steering. Drag-strip test runs clock a stock TC’s 0-60 mph time at 7.8 seconds, and it runs the quarter mile in 15.7 seconds. These results were recorded with a five-speed manual transmission, but an optional four-speed automatic is also available.

Acura TL Type-S

Acura TL Type-SMSRP (base): $38,225Engine: 3.5-liter, 24-Valve DOHC, VTEC V6Horsepower: 286 horsepower @ 6,200 rpmTorque: 256 lb-ft @ 5,000 rpmMPG: City: 18; Highway: 27Performance - 16/20The Acura TL Type-S is rooted on a featherweight chassis and front-wheel drive. The suspension utilizes firmer shocks and stiffer springs for reduced bounce and is a noticeable advantage over the stock setup. It will keep the base TL’s 3.5-liter, 24-valve, DOHC, VTEC V6 performing to perfection and is good for 286 horsepower @ 6,200 rpm. The crank, with a two-stage intake manifold, also makes good for 257 lb-ft of “pull-time” torque. Gear swapping is made possible in the Acura TL Type-S by a six-speed manual transmission or five-speed automatic, and is available with sequential paddle shifters. This all comes together with a drive-by-wire throttle system that leaps off the line with a 0-60 mph drag time of 5.5 ticks, and the 2008 Acura TL Type-S can reach a top speed of 150 mph. Exterior design - 16/20

2008 Chevrolet Malibu

2008 Chevrolet MalibuMSRP (base): $19,345Engine: 2.4-liter, DOHC, Ecotec I4 cylinderHorsepower: 164 horsepower @ 6,400 rpmTorque: 159 lb-ft @ 5,000 rpmMPG: City: 22; Highway: 30Performance - 16/20The 2008 Chevy Malibu, much like the exiting generation, is fundamentally cropped onto GM’s ever-progressing "Epsilon" platform, the same that's found on Saab, Pontiac and Saturn/Opel variants. The suspension makes the most of a four-wheel, independent configuration with aluminum bits and hydraulic bushings.Perhaps the “G” in GM should be changed as this 2.4-liter, DOHC, 16-valve, Ecotec, inline 4-cylinder with twin-balance shafts and variable-valve timing is anything but "general." The compact block produces 164 horsepower at 6,400 rpm, and 159 lb-ft of torque at 5,000 rpm. The fuel-conserving four-speed automatic (and six-speed manual optional) transmission isn’t the least bit jittery, and maintains snap reaction times that seemingly anticipate proper downshifts. A straight-arrow asphalt run clocks the Malibu’s 0-60 mph time at 8.0 seconds, flat. Not too shabby for a vehicle with a curb weight of 3,200 pounds.

Bentley Continental GT

... I purchased this Mercedes S-Class for 13000 pounds Sterling, which was a bargain in my opinion for a car which cost upwards for £75000 pounds in it's day. The W140 is one of the best built Mercedes-Benz cars of recent days; due to it being the last "over-engineered" Mercedes car and ...

Bentley Arnage

The new Bentley Arnage looks very much like the Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph. The body shape is the same but the difference is in the detailing. There is less chrome on the bumpers and the Arnage has massive 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels.

Audi A8 4.2

While other prestige vehicle marquees such as BMW, with their jaw-droppingly "controversial" 7-Series and Mercedes' opulent S-Class try in their own away to scream "look at me, I've made it in life", the Audi A8 takes a refreshingly different approach to luxury transport.

Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph

Comfort and style are what this car best combines. It is not a drivers car but one to be driven in. Forget here qualities of how it drives - if you can afford it: you'll be driven in it. Enjoy sitting in the rear because this is what this vehicle has been designed for a smooth ride, ...

BMW 728i

The car has the usual BMW service computer with the series of green/amber/red lights. I have found you can expect 9-10k miles between services. I normally keep cars for a maximum of three years but I cannot afford the new 7 series and I can't bear to part with it.

The Bentley Continental GT does look good and sits quite low. It really seems to turn heads, which is not always a good thing and can be unnerving sometimes. The interior finishing is something to behold and you can surprisingly just about fit 4 adults...

Exotic Rides: Lotus Elise

U.S. enthusiasts were enticed when Lotus introduced the mid-engine Elise in 1996, which wasn’t street-legal in North America. So close, yet so far. After many years of success in Europe, Lotus at last managed to tweak the Elise to (mostly) meet regulations in the states in 2005. The much-anticipated arrival was greeted with open arms and wallets. Paying list price was out of the question, and willing customers even covered the surcharges without a second thought.Lotus followed the success of the Elise with the similarly styled Exige Coupe, and the latter has been generating plenty of buzz. Time to pause and consider: Has the mystique faded or does the car still uphold Lotus founder Colin Chapman’s timeless philosophy of performance through light weight? We rated our findings based on our yellow Elise Sport’s luxury and practicality relative to its class. Each category is worth 50 points for a possible 100 points.
the luxury rideThe biggest missing link to the first-generation Elise meeting U.S. regulations was the engine. As Lotus readied the next edition, they looked to Toyota to fill the void and the engine bay behind the driver. Wheels began turning. The Elise may only have Toyota’s 1.8-liter under the bonnet (yes, just like your girlfriend’s Corolla), but with the six-speed manual car’s weight at 1,975 pounds, that heretofore humble servant’s 189 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque jolt the Elise to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. Top speed is more than adequate at 150 mph. With a base MSRP around $43,000, the Elise gives the kind of good vibes you’d ordinarily get from sports cars that cost thousands more. Even if some of its raw numbers don’t stack up with the bigger boys, you’ll probably never know it from the driver’s seat. If you do notice, you’re even less likely to care; the intrinsic rush is that intense. The Elise Sport comes packed with suspension upgrades, including adjustable Ohlins shocks, but under most conditions the ride stiffness (and for that matter, the overall noise/vibration/harshness) is just about right for a no-nonsense sports car. Weight and feel from the unassisted steering leaves little to be desired, and the four-wheel ABS is top-notch too. One of the few performance gripes we have is the relatively tight pedal box. You’ll have no problem heel-and-toeing, but leave your Herman Munster biker boots at home. It takes a certain kind of guy to drive the Elise. While we’re referring partially to his character (and ability to live with the yellow paint and silver stripes of the sport package), we’re also suggesting his build shouldn’t be overly generous. Graceful ingress and egress takes time and practice, especially with the targa top in place. Once inside, you’ll be snug in the tight, spartan interior -- all the better for tackling your favorite back road or track.

Exotic Car Koenigsegg CCXR

Even though the last thing that spring into mind when thinking about supercars is their environmental friendliness, by following conscientious and forward thinking strategies, Koenigsegg has managed to create the Bio Fuel Powered CCXR - environmentally friendly 1200 with even more spectacular performance than the standard CCX.It is true that the very low and exclusive production volume of Koenigsegg can hardly be considered to have a measurable impact on the Co2 problem that global society is facing, but still it is an impressive statement that even a small and extreme company like Koenigsegg can afford to develop environmentally focussed solutions. The Experienced Koenigsegg Swedish Team of engineers has managed to modify the CCX engine to run on bio ethanol fuel, therefore we can state that this is probably the most eco friendly supersport car in the world. On he other side, we do not know yet how many adversaries will have something in hand to contest its supremacy, knowing the fact that the octane value (way over 100) has increased the value of the car at 1.018hp.Although the Nordic team did not officially reveal what this data will mean on the road (the car has a torque of 1060 nm at 6100 rpm), there is no doubt that the CCXR has the potential to go way under 3 seconds by 100 km/h and to shatter the 400 km /h border. Following the long-term strategy of Koenigsegg, all previous CCXs will have the possibility to be converted by the factory to accept the biofuel option. The CCXR Biofuel upgrade has been developed in-house on the factory's engine dyno by the skilled technicians at Koenigsegg, led by Christian Koenigsegg, Marco Garver and Anders Hoglund from the Koenigsegg partner company Cargine Engineering
